When Is Donating My Items The Best Option
The simple answer is when you think your time & effort is worth more than can make from selling it on Craigslist or eBay. Their is normally a $10.00 minimum charge for listing an item on eBay through a professional. The effort/risk of selling an item on Craigslist varies on you personally.
I tell my clients... that a service like ours is good for items that after shipping costs will sell for over $50.00. Anything below that should really be sold on eBay by yourself due to small amount of meat that will be on the bone at the end of the transaction. For larger medium value ($500-$2,000)... I recommend a local consignment store.
For larger high value ($2,000 & Above)... I recommend an eBay Professional.

eBay let’s you search the selling history of an item.
Based on popularity it can be within 15-30 days of listing whether is sold or not.
1st - Go To: http://shop.ebay.com/ebayadvsearch/
2nd - Type the item you are thinking about selling in the search box.
3rd - Click the COMPLETED LISTINGS button.
4th - Click the SEARCH button.
5th - See what the item has been selling for. Green means it sold & Red means it didn’t.
